How we handle profile candidates

What we hold, and why

If a creator links their own account to us, or someone submits a public handle to invite a person to claim a profile, we may temporarily hold a minimal staging record: the handle, where it was observed, and an opaque, single-use outreach token. We do not scrape photos, bios, or build a listing. We never copy competitor directories.

Because flagging a handle as a possible adult-services profile can reveal information about a person's sex life, we treat staging records as special-category data and minimise them to the floor. Our lawful basis for holding the staging record is legitimate interest(with a documented balancing test) — not consent, because no one can consent on another person's behalf before they have claimed a profile.

Nothing is published without you

No public profile — not even a stub — exists until the person themselves claims it, gives explicit Article 9(2)(a) consent, and passes identity verification. Unclaimed staging records are automatically and permanently deleted after a short period.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold, object to it, or have it deleted at any time — including before you have ever interacted with us. Email privacy@rougerooms.example or use our report form. We are registered with the ICO as a data controller.
